- 11 people a day die by Suicide everyday in Canada
- 11.8% of people in Canada have had thoughts of suicide at some point in their lives
- Remember there is no one cause of suicide
- In 2019 there were 4011 suicides 3058 of these were men. 1,169 of those were 45-64 years of age.
- Men die by suicide 3x more often than women.
- 1 in 5 Canadians experience a mental illness in any given year.
- 70% of mental health problems have their onset during childhood or adolescence.
- Young people aged 15 to 24 are more likely to experience mental illness and/or substance use disorders than any other age group.
